Have asked myself this same question a number of times. I once had a guy argue that I shouldn’t be parked in a disabled space because I ‘looked too young’ – he seemed to be of the opinion disability is something that only affects someone later in life – work that one out!

When I pointed out I had a disabled parking placecard on the dashboard and questioned as to why he didn’t appear to have one despite being parked in the disabled space next to me, he got horribly defensive and just gave me a barrage of abuse to deflect from the fact I had called him out over being illegally parked.

Really sorry you had to deal with that situation Matthew, one can only hope this lady reflected on her comments later in the day, but, from the sounds of it, she sadly seems a pretty narrow minded individual.
